Harken back to the Gilded Age with The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm

Relive the life of high society New York in the late 19th century, with The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm, complete with century-old traditions and rituals including its legendary butler service – the ultimate combination of old-school luxury with new-world sophistication.

It is true that Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah neighbourhood has a lot of luxury properties now, but this one is closest to the mainland being located on the trunk of arguably the world’s most iconic palm tree. Located in The Palm Tower, the hotel is ideally situated for guests to explore the island, its stunning beaches and breathtaking views while also discovering the city. This five-star hotel connects directly into the nearby Nakheel Mall with its 300 upscale shops, restaurants, entertainment outlets, The View at The Palm, and its own Palm Monorail station.

The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm features 264 lavishly appointed rooms and 26 elegant suites, each with expansive views of The Palm Jumeirah and Dubai’s skyline through its floor-to-ceiling windows.

With a starting size of 43 sqm, all rooms boast a dedicated seating area, floor-to-ceiling windows, and abundant closet and luggage space. A tranquil night's rest on a feather-soft mattress with Frette linen and down-filled pillows and attentive and personalized 24-hour St. Regis Butler Service make for a very restful stay.

While St Regis borrows the tradition of butlers from a century ago, there is nothing outdated about this luxury service – the butlers too have evolved with time. They will, of course, part your curtains for you in the morning if you so wish (and fold a neat cravat!) and they can be reached via text messages, email or through the Butler Service Desk. Services include but are not limited to packaging and unpackaging of garments, complimentary pressing of up to two pieces of clothing, beverage service, wake-up calls and more.

The hotel also offers handcrafted cuisine across four restaurants and lounges, two infinity swimming pools, workout in The Exercise Room and treatments at Iridium Spa.

The culinary journey includes an elegant ladies-only afternoon tea lounge and a specialty restaurant. Named Her by Caroline Astor, the outlet is a tribute to the founder’s mother Caroline Astor, who in the late 19th century was highly regarded as the Queen of New York high society. As a doyenne of glamour during the Gilded Age, her legacy lives on in St. Regis properties through exclusive fashion partnerships with world-class couture designers and global tastemakers.

Newest to the running list of spectacular experiences at the hotel is Sunset Sessions. Recently introduced at Dip Pool Bar, The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm’s spectacular sunset hideaway, guests are invited to escape the everyday with smooth sips and al fresco light bites. Located under lush palm trees and overlooking the gorgeous Palm Jumeirah, Dip Pool Bar promises all the right ingredients for a relaxed day lounging by breathtaking infinity swimming pools, complete with a great food and an impressive shisha selection.

Dating back to the battles of Napoleon Bonaparte, who famously opened champagne with his saber in both victory and defeat, the art of sabrage is the signature ceremony of the St. Regis Evening Rituals series. It is definitely a sight to behold and the staff are trained perfectly to perform this stunning feat of breaking open a bottle of bubbles with a military strike of a sword.

Home to the second Iridium Spa in the Emirates, The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm’s signature spa boasts six treatment suites and respective ladies’ and gentlemen’s relaxation areas, along with spa facilities including, a sauna, and steam room. The spa menu features a range of treatment options, complete with specialized experiences that incorporate its core partnerships with leading wellness brands, AMRA Skincare and Sothys.

The property does not have a kids’ club but makes up more than amply with kids amenities, which are available for children of every age, complimentary hot chocolate on demand and the special library service offered by the Butler Desk. A neatly stacked portable library of about 200-plus books was delivered to our room for our 5-year-old, age appropriate and ideal to keep little one holed in for hours.

The property caters for business events with its six multi-purpose meeting and event rooms and elegant ballroom. The hotel occupies the first eighteen floors of Nakheel’s new 52-storey landmark development, The Palm Tower, offering direct access to Nakheel Mall. The Palm Tower also features The View at The Palm, a stunning observation deck which sits 240 metres above the iconic island and offers sweeping, 360-degree views of Palm Jumeirah, the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai skyline.
