Choice Hotels to open 10 new hotels

CHOICE Hotels Europe has signed a master license agreement with Saudi-based Seera Hospitality, a subsidiary of Seera Holding Group, the largest publicly listed travel company in the Mena region, to open at least ten hotels across the kingdom within the next five years.

The first three properties – Clarion Jeddah Airport, Comfort King Road Jeddah, and Comfort Olaya Riyadh – are due to open at the end of this year and are available to prebook now.

Clarion Hotel Jeddah Airport has 200 rooms and is located on the Prince Majid Road, just three minutes away from the new King Abdul-Aziz International Airport and Jeddah Airport Train Station.

The Comfort King Road, with 125 extended stay suites, is located in one of the most prominent areas of Jeddah near the Jeddah Corniche, Jeddah International Airport, and the Madinah Road.

The Comfort Olaya Riyadh is located in Olaya, in one of the most prized locations in the city’s central business district near the iconic Kingdom Tower. The hotel boasts 97 well-appointed extended stay suites, as well as a rooftop lounge with unique views of the Riyadh skyline.

 

Deutsche Hospitality expands presence

DEUTSCHE Hospitality, which is set to open 20 new hotels by the end of 2023 in key leisure destinations in the Middle East, has announced the launch of its first Steigenberger Hotel in Doha, Qatar.

The group is targeting establishing hotels in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat, Salalah, Jeddah and Riyadh.

Located in the heart of the commercial district of Doha, the flagship property is part of Deutsche Hospitality’s tenacious expansion plans for the region offering pure luxury and hospitality at its best to the Middle East. Steigenberger Hotel Doha will welcome guests and residents to its exclusive property during Fall 2021. The hotel features 206 guest rooms, including 28 suites and a lavish Royal suite, opulently designed for business and leisure travellers alike.

 

Farnek launches hotel management company

LEADING UAE-based smart and green facilities management (FM) company Farnek has developed its hospitality division into an all-embracing hotel management company under the leadership of renowned UAE-based international hotelier Walter Knight.

Knight was responsible for structuring and developing Farnek’s fledgling hospitality division earlier this year. Farnek started by providing a comprehensive range of outsourced and third-party services, including concierge services, housekeeping, property operations, maintenance, energy consultancy.

Knight, Director of Hospitality, commented: “Originally we were aiming for a service offering, which not only embraced traditionally outsourced FM and manpower services, but also managing revenue driven services, such as central reservation offices and associated sales services.

“Now with our hotel management licence, we can approach hotel developers, investors, owners and management companies direct with a full suite of services including consultancy, management, outsourcing and manpower services proposition.” 

 

Hyatt’s brands embark on European expansion

HYATT Hotels Corporation announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into six new management and franchise agreements for hotels in Europe across The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, JdV by Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, and Hyatt Regency brands.

The announcement builds on Hyatt’s growth strategy to significantly expand its brand portfolio in Europe by the end of 2023 – the six new executed agreements are expected to increase Hyatt’s brand presence in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. This is in addition to the recently announced planned acquisition of Apple Leisure Group (ALG), which is expected to expand Hyatt’s European brand footprint by 60 per cent.

Newly executed deals include The Unbound Collection by Hyatt hotel in Crans-Montana, Switzerland; ll Tornabuoni Hotel in Florence, Italy; The Tribune Hotel in Rome, Italy; A JdV by Hyatt hotel in Bordeaux, France; Hyatt Centric Altstadt Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany; and Hyatt Regency Madrid Residences in Madrid, Spain.
