Originally opened in 1927 as one of the first Ritz-Carlton hotels in the US, this iconic Boston landmark will reopen in mid-2020. The property will be re-imagined with a thoughtful new floor plan, dramatic public spaces, 286 redesigned guestrooms (including 90 suites), stunning event spaces and new food and beverage experiences, including a rooftop restaurant and the restoration of the beloved Street Bar.

The Newbury Boston will offer 16,000 square feet of dramatic and flexible event space which will be beautifully renovated and updated with modern functionality, providing an ideal setting for meetings and celebrations overlooking The Public Garden. In addition to the event space, the new food and beverage experience includes the restoration of The Street Bar and the addition of a Library Lounge, available exclusively to hotel guests. The seasonal rooftop space will be converted into a year-round restaurant, operated by Major Food Group, a leading hospitality and restaurant company. With 90 suites, we have the highest suite count in Boston and the suites easily connect with other guestrooms and suites to create two- to three-bedroom options,” a hotel representative tells us. “Most of our floors have between 12 to 15 suites and guestrooms, which make it easy for the hotel to accommodate larger family visits as well.”
