IN LINE with its expansion plans, R Hotels, the hospitality management division of the Ajman-based R Holding, has announced the acquisition of its fifth property in the UAE. Strategically placed on the intersection of 2nd of December Street (formerly Al Diyafah Street) and Al Mina Road in Jumeirah, the new hotel is set to open in the second quarter of 2015.

With its central location, the 192-key hotel is set to attract both corporate and leisure travellers in Dubai. The hotel will feature a combination of rooms and suites, and will include an all-day dining restaurant, banquet facilities, gym and swimming pool, concept spa and salon, meeting rooms, business centre, and retail space.

Sumair Tariq, managing director of R Hotels, says, “The UAE continues to witness a strong and steady growth in the hospitality and tourism sectors. We aim to capitalise on these developments by expanding our portfolio in key locations, and bringing in reputable hospitality brands to cater to the demands of different markets and segments.”

Last year, R Hotels announced its Dh1.5 billion ($409 million) investment plans, seeking to enhance its existing hotel portfolio in the next couple of years. “There is a robust competition in the market and we see this as an opportunity for growth. R Hotels has established a good reputation in the hospitality field and we will continue to boost our market presence in the coming years.”

R Hotels currently owns and manages four properties in the UAE, namely Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, Ramada Downtown Dubai and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

With its strategic location along Al Mina Road in Jumeirah neighbourhood, the new hotel targets business travellers with its proximity to the major business hubs like Dubai World Centre and Dubai International Financial Centre. It is also an ideal spot for leisure visitors with its easy access to the city’s iconic landmarks like Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab, as well as to the cultural sites like The Jumeirah Mosque, Dubai Gold Souk and Dubai Museum.
