El Hayek … we have a wide mix of business |
Al Bustan Centre & Residence has always presented a home away from home experience because of its spacious lobby, meeting rooms and business centre, amazing dining options at Fountain Café & Restaurant and the food court and large number of retail outlets. “The hotel looks completely new but the service remains exemplary. We keep ourselves up-to-date with the latest innovation in the market. We cannot just be laidback and do things as they were done 20 years ago,” says the charming gentleman. We have a very high level of loyalty from our customers and tour operators from around the GCC, continues the COO with 30 years of hospitality experience to his credit. “We have a very wide mix of business and customer profile. The market mix is half business, half leisure. The 50 per cent leisure segment is fed from local and Gulf markets and the business comes from CIS countries and West and East Europe. We also have a healthy percentage of customers, about 30 per cent, who live with us for a month, even a year.” “Internationally, number one is CIS countries, mostly Russia and earlier Kazakhstan, now it is slowing down due to currency devaluation, but normally CIS tops our charts. We’re exploring free independent travel business from India and China, and we have been getting a lot of large groups from there recently. “As of April 30th this year, we have witnessed a growth of almost 15 per cent in terms of revenue over last year, slightly over the budget. In terms of occupancy, we are managing year-to-date almost 75 to 80 per cent, also a very good sign. “In the last quarter of this year, we expect a surge in arrivals from people who want to make most of the opportunities that Expo 2020 offers,” he concludes. Ideally located in Dubai’s business district, Al Bustan Centre and Residence is just five minutes away from Dubai International Airport and just 50 meters away from Al Nahda Metro Station, giving hotel guests easy and convenient access to major shopping malls and tourist attractions.
