Hyatt Place opens in the Mideast

Hyatt Place Dubai/Al Rigga, the first Hyatt Place hotel in the Middle East and the fourth Hyatt-branded hotel in Dubai, has opened doors in April this year.

The opening of the 210-room hotel, marks a significant milestone for the Hyatt Place brand as it continues to expand outside the United States. Located in the Al Muraqabat neighbourhood, Hyatt Place Dubai/Al Rigga provides a four-star choice for business and leisure travellers visiting Dubai. The hotel is in close proximity to the city’s historic attractions including dhow boat cruises, bustling souks and museums and the fashionable downtown district with world-class dining, shops and galleries. The project is in line with the United Arab Emirates’ new government directives/policies to develop mid-range hotels in an effort to diversify Dubai’s hospitality and tourism offering.

'Hyatt has mirrored the trust shown by the international community in Dubai, by trying to increase its portfolio with the Al Rigga property,' John Beveridge, area director and general manager Grand Hyatt Dubai tells TTN. 'Here in Dubai we are also working on Hyatt Regency, The Creek in Healthcare City, which is nearly nine months to one year into completion – the new general manager has recently arrived.' This property is 464 rooms, 406 service apartments, five food and beverage options and 2,500 sqm of meeting space.'

'With its close proximity to Grand Hyatt Dubai and to the Park Hyatt Dubai on the other side of the creek, Hyatt Regency, The Creek will help us handle large pieces of meetings, events, conferences and incentives,' John Beveridge, area director and general manager Grand Hyatt Dubai tells TTN. 'We also have plans in Abu Dhabi for a Grand Hyatt, which is about a year to 15 months off completion.'
