Swiss adds more destinations

SWISS International Air Lines has started scheduled services to Kiev with the start of the 2013/14 winter timetable period.

Passengers from the Middle East will have further choices when flying Swiss International Air Lines. SWISS added Kiev to its European network with the start of the winter schedules in October. The capital of Ukraine is now receiving a daily service from Zurich, provided with Airbus A320 equipment seating 152 passengers.

Swiss is eliminating certain frequencies to other European destinations and on some North American routes in response to projected demand in the winter timetable period. At the same time, service on the Zurich-Miami route will again be increased from seven to 10 weekly flights.   

“With our new schedules for winter, we are pleased to offer our passengers from Dubai more options of destinations to go to for business or holidays,” said Mark Pey, country manager for Swiss International Air Lines, UAE and Oman.

Swiss will be offering six new destinations are being added to the Geneva-based network: Stockholm (served up to four times weekly), Oslo (up to three times weekly) and Gothenburg (up to twice weekly) in Scandinavia, along with Belgrade (up to twice weekly), London Gatwick (up to three times weekly) and Marrakech (up to three times weekly). 

Swiss will serve a total of 76 (52 European and 24 intercontinental) destinations in 40 countries in the 2013/14 winter timetable period. The services will be provided by a fleet of 91 aircraft, including five operated under wet-lease agreements.

Swiss will also be offering services from Zurich to attractive vacation destinations all over the world this winter in collaboration with its partner Edelweiss. These will include the long-haul destinations of Tampa Bay, Cape Town, Phuket, Male, Mauritius and Punta Cana. The medium-haul destination of Madeira will also receive one weekly flight.

The 2013/14 winter timetable period runs until March 29, 2014.
