THROUGH an exclusive long term license agreement signed between Paramount Licensing Inc and Paramount Hotels & Resorts, a company registered in Dubai, UAE, Paramount Pictures Corporation is venturing into new grounds with the launch of the Paramount-branded hospitality concept called Paramount Hotels & Resorts, it was announced at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).
“Paramount Hotels & Resorts will create a luxury lifestyle hospitality experience, one which will be unmissable, unforgettable and unmistakable,” said Thomas van Vliet, chief executive officer of Paramount Hotels & Resorts.
“Though each hotel and resort will be a unique production, they will all have the signatures of the Paramount brand, including inspiring design, cutting-edge technology, extraordinary entertainment experiences as well as elements of Hollywood glamour and California lifestyle, combined with indulgent spas, unique food and beverage concepts and luxurious accommodation,” he added.
Initial sites that are in various stages of development discussions include Brazil, the Caribbean, Indonesia, Oman, Qatar, Russia, South Africa, UAE and the UK. “We are keen to kick-start this development in Dubai as our target locations include capitol and gateway cities as well as and key resort destinations in present primary markets and future growth markets. Apart from standalone hotels and resorts, some of our projects might be part of integrated resorts with a casino or a theme park,” added van Vliet.
Speaking about what guests can expect, van Vliet adds that the Paramount Hotels will contain facility and service elements of hotels like W, Andaz, Edition, Setai, Chedi, Viceroy or for instance SLS Los Angeles and on the other hand cannot be compared to the likes of Planet Hollywood Hotel or Hard Rock Hotel.
The size of a Paramount Hotels and Resorts is expected to range between 200 and 350 rooms and with integrated resorts, increasing to 500 rooms.
A unique feature at each of Paramount’s hotels is a Paramount Screening Room, an intimate projection screen cinema, offering luxury theater chairs and food and beverage services with nightly showings, special screenings and even mini film festivals.
Other unique features include Paramount Work and Play suites, private suites replacing a typical hotel business centre with state-of-the-art studios for business use and during evening and weekends these suites can be used for entertainment experiences, as well as guest access to the Paramount film catalogue at key touch points woven throughout their stay, the commissioning of international and local artists to produce their interpretation of iconic Paramount imagery as decoration throughout the hotel and finally for instance complimentary minibar and wi-fi throughout the hotel.
