The business-friendly Crowne Plaza Jeddah

After a successful 2011, Jeddah’s award-winning business hotel, The Crowne Plaza Jeddah is looking to continue its renovation programmes with the opening of two new restaurants, the Sakura Japanese Restaurant and the Crowne Grill Restaurant. The hotel finished its last phase of renovation in August 2010, when it launched a brand new lobby, new rooms including a two-floor penthouse suite, upgraded meeting facilities providing nine meeting rooms with break-out facilities and a brand new façade.

“Crowne Plaza Jeddah has remained the first choice for corporate guests from the local market as well as the GCC market,” says general manager Rafique Izhiman.

“Top on the agenda for 2012 is the official opening of the Sakura Japanese Restaurant, expected to take place in the first quarter.

”We also want to expand our horizons and will look at tapping at new business opportunities in different market segments. We believe our hotel will find a strong foothold in GCC markets including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.”

“Beyond GCC, there are plans to target the Chinese market, as we have noticed an increase in the traffic between Saudi Arabia and China especially with all the mega projects coming up in the Kingdom,” Izhiman adds.

The hotel is also keen to participate at key trade shows including the Arabian Travel Market, held in Dubai, UAE.

“With the help of media, we want to reach out to our guests and offer to them all the comforts of a business hotel, better service with great value of money and bring home the fact that The Crowne Plaza Jeddah is truly the best Mice hotel in Jeddah,” he explains.

The hotel plans to launch several new marketing initiatives, starting with the local market in Jeddah by working closely with the bank sectors to have partners for 2012. As Saudi Arabia continues to welcome more guests in 2012, Izhiman adds that the key segments for the hotel will be the Umrah and Hajj business followed by corporate business travellers from across the Kingdom, Europe and China.

The Crowne Plaza Jeddah is ideal for business guests offering rooms and suites equipped with 32-inch flat screen televisions with a wide variety of satellite channels, ample working space with easy ‘plug and play’ high-speed internet access and wireless connectivity. Club level guests have priority check-in directly at the Club Lounge. There are nine new comprehensive meeting rooms accommodating up to 130 persons. The meeting rooms offer the latest state-of-the art audio visual facilities as well as high speed internet access and wireless connectivity. The Crystal Ballroom can host events for up to 1,000 people or can be divided into four equal sections with sound proof partitions.

For diners, the hotel offers a choice of all-day international buffet with a live cooking station at Al Zahra restaurant, besides the two new restaurants that will open doors this year.
