Allan Federer takes over as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai. Federer was previously GM at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. He has also held other GM positions with The Ritz-Carlton hotels in Powerscourt in Ireland, Singapore, Istanbul and Montreal as well as regional positions in hotels in North America.

The Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers has appointed Ram Gupta as the director of revenue management. Gupta is no stranger to Starwood Hotels & Resorts having worked with the Le Meridien Abu Dhabi and Residences by Le Meridien as revenue manager before being promoted to director.

Taj Palace Hotel Dubai has appointed Marwa Mustafa as director of sales. Mustafa began her career as a group coordinator at the Cairo Nile Hilton in Egypt. She moved to Dubai in 2004 with Capacity World as assistant production manager before joining Radisson SAS Dubai Creek as a reservation supervisor.
Marriott promotes Baidas

Marriott International has promoted Samir Baidas to Sr. VP-development for the Middle East, from his previous post as VP-development for the Middle East. Baidas rejoined Marriott in 2004 after first starting his Marriott career as sales manager in 1991 at the Riyadh Marriott in KSA and then with Amman Marriott in Jordan.

Marriott Executive Apartments, Manama has appointed Sam Van Campenhout as the new general manager. Campenhout joined the Marriott family in 1997 as director of sales and marketing and continues his journey with Marriott. He was previously hotel manager of the Brussels Marriott Hotel.

Gulf Air has appointed Karim Makhlouf COO after he joined the airline in October 2010 as director commercial planning. He started his career with Lufthansa and has also worked with SkyEurope airlines as COO. He was most recently CCO and deputy CEO of Malev Hungarian Airlines before joining Gulf Air.
