SAUDI Arabia’s Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre aims to maintain its leading edge in the city’s hospitality landscape following a major refurbishment.

The 12-month renovation project, executed by British architectural and interiors firm GA Design, incorporates new design schemes in all rooms and suites as well as structural and aesthetic changes in public areas such as the entrance, reception, lobby lounge, corridors and floor lobbies in addition to a brand new restaurant Elements which will replace Seasons.

The renowned California-based restaurant design firm EDG Design has worked on the concept and design of all-day-dining Elements which will offer global cuisine presented with an Arabesque and Asian twist.

The hotel’s popular contemporary Italian restaurant Quattro, will additionally close for renovation for two months starting January 2011.

“The hotel’s decision to embark on extensive renovations throughout the property reflects the management’s focus on investing in the guest experience and the owner’s commitment to maintaining Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh as the hotel of choice,” says general manager Rami Sayess.

With an enviable location in the heart of the Saudi Arabian capital, Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh occupies the 30th to 48th floors of the prestigious Kingdom Centre – an iconic building that dominates the Riyadh skyline.

Consisting of 249 spacious guest accommodation options, including 52 suites and 197 rooms, each generously-sized room incorporates all the standard amenities expected at this property level – such as distinct work areas, high-speed internet access, dual-line phones and international satellite television channels. A host of upgraded amenities and features have been added to various room and suite categories during the recent renovation – including halo-lit mirrors and built-in televisions, electric curtains in the suites, LED lighting on the windows, the ability to connect personal laptops to LCD screens, Ipod dock in all rooms, the ability to adjust room temperatures electronically, high-speed wireless internet (up to 18MB) and a media hub, giving guests easy connectivity and access to all media outlets in the room.

In the public areas, upgrades include new fabrics, decorative light fixtures and feature artwork in areas such as the lobby, reception and along guest corridors and floor lobbies. The Lobby Lounge has been given a glamorous facelift through the use of dark rich tones and bold artwork, creating an atmospheric destination for morning coffees through to late night rendezvous. Covers at the Lobby Lounge have also been increased to 136.

The renovation has seen five upgraded floors of guest rooms and suites, along with the new Lobby Lounge and lobby, come online in October. The new restaurant, additional guest rooms and suites, as well as a few specialty suites, such as the Royal Suite, will open to guests before the year-end.
