Al Reefy...a winner

ROSEWOOD Corniche restaurant manager Nasser Al Reefy  has been recognised with a prestigious hospitality industry honour in the annual Hotelier Middle East Awards.

Al Reefy, restaurant manager at the Jeddah property, won the Outlet Manager of the Year award for his work in running the hotel’s celebrated Asian restaurants Ginza I Chome and Noodles, both of which offer exemplary levels of quality cuisine, service and atmosphere and enjoy expansive views of the Red Sea.

“Under Nasser’s management, our Asian restaurants are now considered the premier dining destinations in Jeddah and he continues to act as a figurehead of our successful Saudisation policy to develop and nurture local talent,” said Hans-Peter Leitzke, managing director of Rosewood Corniche.

“We receive consistently positive feedback from our patrons and staff about Nasser’s performance in the hotel and we believe his hard work and commitment had a direct correlation to Rosewood Corniche being awarded Saudi Arabia’s Leading Hotel in consecutive years in 2009 and 2010.  His win in these awards is a just recognition of his dedication, hard work and guest relations”.

In the three years that Rosewood Corniche has been operating, Noodles has become a firm favourite among family diners in the Kingdom. The restaurant prides itself on the delivery of freshly-prepared dishes featuring hand-pulled La Mian noodles in the open show kitchen which creates an interactive and educational experience for diners.

Ginza I Chome is a regular spot for Jeddah’s VIP community, many of whom enjoy the Omakase concept – a Japanese term meaning ‘entrust the chef’.

Holding a diploma and Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from the American College in Dublin, Ireland, Nasser is continuing his professional development by working through the Rosewood employee programme in conjunction with a management course from Harvard Business School.
