InterContinental Doha The City welcomed Gilles Longuet as its new general manager. He joins the hotel from Djibouti Palace Kempinski, and prior to that role has also held the position of general manager of the Melia Hotel in Dubai as well as the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach.
Bürgenstock Selection has appointed Bettina Haeberle (pictured here) as area director of sales and marketing, Martina Kessler is the new Bürgenstock Resort marketing director, and Jonas Reif is communications manager. These hires make the MidEast leisure and Mice markets key focus points.
ME Dubai has appointed Haytham El Sherbini, as its new director of sales and marketing. He has worked for Dusit International, Intercontinental Hotel Group, and most recently, Emaar Hospitality Group for eight years with The Address Hotels + Resorts and Armani Hotel Dubai.
Salalah Rotana Resort has promoted Lara Abou Harb as revenue manager, serving as department head in charge. She joins Salalah Rotana Resort from Raouche Arjaan by Rotana, where she occupied the position of reservations manager. Her keen eye for strategy h bagged her the role.
Marwan Fadel joins as the general manager of The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. A Lebanese national, he has nearly two decades of hospitality experience across the Middle East. Fadel will oversee all management functions, hotel operations and new innovations for the resort.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has promoted Marc Descrozaille to president Middle East & Africa (MEA). Having joined the hospitality firm in 2017 as vice president operations Middle East & Africa, he will now take the helm from Andreas Mattmüller, who has retired from his role recently.
Dino Van Eeckhaut has been named cluster general manager for: Wyndham Dubai Marina, with 486 rooms, TRYP by Wyndham, which opened in August 2017 and is considered the largest in the world with 650 rooms, and Wyndham West Bay with 485 rooms, scheduled to open in late 2018.
Shafeek Mohammed has been appointed as the new executive housekeeper who will oversee all housekeeping operations to ensure an excellent guest and member experience at Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort. He brings over 15 years of hospitality experience to the role of executive housekeeper.
