A new team has been recently hired at the iconic hotel in Cairo, Hilton Cairo Heliopolis. Hala Sabry has been appointed the hotel's Cluster Commercial Director. She has over 25 years of hospitality experience within luxury hotel chains of IHG, Marriott, Fairmont and Kempinski to Hilton. Hossam Shehata has been appointed as the hotel’s Cluster Commercial Manager. He brings over 20 years of commercial and sales experience to the team. Shehata is no stranger to top hotel brands having worked with Hyatt, Accor and IHG in Egypt. Mariette Magdy has been appointed as the hotel’s Cluster Director of Groups, Conferences & Events. She brings over 20 years of experience working with high-end hotel chains including Sofitel, Fairmont, Le Meridien, and JW Marriott as well as Sheraton Dubai. Eihab Attia has been appointed as the hotel’s Cluster Director of Marketing. He joins Hilton after nine years of hospitality experience.
Marriott has appointed Michel Nader as Area Vice President for the UAE. He will oversee 60 operating hotels across 20 brands. Nader brings with him over 20 years of international experience in the industry and most recently as the Market Vice President for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt for Marriott.
National carrier Gulf Air has appointed two Bahraini nationals into the executive and management roles - Adnan Hashim as Chief Financial Officer and Jamal Al Kuwaiti as the Director of Human Resources. Hashim brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the banking and finance industry. He was the earlier CFO at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), and prior to that, he held the same role at NCB Capital. On Al Kuwaiti's appointment, Gulf Air said he has more than two decades of working experience, of which 15 years were concentrated in human resources management field alone.
Sonia Parmar has been appointed the Marketing Manager at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort. Parmar’s 17+ years’ experience, began at Clariges Hotel followed by successful roles at Emirates Palace, Meydan Hotels & Hospitality, Royal Rose Hotel, Abu Dhabi and Gloria Hotels & Resorts. She has won several awards and honours.
dnata has appointed Musdalifa Abdullah as the company’s Managing Director for Singapore. A Singapore national, Abdullah joined dnata in 2017. As Chief Financial Officer for dnata’s Asia Pacific Region, he had played an important role in the transformation and innovative development of dnata Singapore in the last few years.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Geraldine Dobey as the new General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Paris. She was previously a part of the leadership team at Mandarin Oriental’s Geneva property. Dobey will also oversee the operations of Mandarin Oriental’s Geneva and Marrakech hotels.
The Shangri-La Group has made two key regional appointments covering the Middle East, India, Indian Ocean, Europe and the Americas (MEIA). Kapil Aggarwal and Choon Wah Wong, have both been promoted to Co-Heads of the MEIA region, Aggarwal will overlook operations in Turkey, the Middle East, India and the Indian Ocean, while Wong will take responsibility for Europe and the Americas. Prior to their latest appointments, Wong was Vice President of Investment & Asset Management and Aggarwal was Vice President of Investment & Asset Management as well as Deputy to the Executive Vice President of Operations for the MEIA region.
