He will utilise his knowledge of food and beverage, and management to enhance the experience at Baros.
dnata has appointed chef Stephen Templeton as the global head of culinary for its international catering division. His most recent position involved leading Rhubarb Food Design, as its director of culinary. Templeton will be responsible for managing all aspects of food presentations, guest and kitchen design.
Chef Steven Smalley has been appointed the new executive chef for Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. Smalley has worked with Atlantis The Palm and Madinat Jumeriah. His new position will involve overseeing the daily operations of all dining venues, in-room and banquet services, hiring and training personnel.
Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa promoted Mehdi Hanayen as the new general manager after he joined the property as director of operations in 2017. Saad Khayat has joined Makkah Millennium Hotel and Towers as the new cluster general manager. Prior to this role, he was the general manager at Sheraton Jabal Al Kaaba Makkah hotel. Khayat’s more than 25 years of experience in business and hospitality have taken him to multiple properties in Makkah.
Crowne Plaza Dubai has appointed Mrad El Khoury as the new general manager for its Sheikh Zayed Road branch. His most recent position was area general manager for Acico Group. Khoury has over 20 years of experience across the region in hotel projects ranging from pre-opening to daily operations.
Mohamed Shawky has been promoted to executive assistant manager - rooms, at The Meydan Hotel. His most recent role was cluster director of revenue for The Meydan Hotel and its sister property Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa since December 2015. Shawky will oversee all aspects of the hotel operations.
Centro Barsha Dubai has appointed Imad Akil as its new general manager. Akil joined Rotana Hotels Group in 2008 for the pre-opening of Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach, Dubai. He has also worked on the pre-opening of two other Rotana hotels, as director of front office and rooms, and as executive assistant manager.
