Leading German car rental company Sixt Rent-A-Car has begun operations in the UAE. The franchise is owned by Gargash Enterprises, the exclusive Mercedes-Benz distributor in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
The company is offering a fleet largely dominated by Mercedes-Benz prestige range of models from Mercedes-Benz A Class to elegant and sporty coupes and convertibles or from the luxurious E and S Class saloons. It currently has two offices in Dubai, its main office located in the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz showroom and a 24-hour counter conveniently located in the arrivals area of the Dubai International Airport. Sixt says it is planning to extend its services to customers all over the UAE and plans to open a new branch at the Abu Dhabi airport before April. Founded in 1912, Sixt is now a major company in Germany headed by its chairman Erich Sixt. It has built brand loyalty among business travellers in Europe. The company has a fleet of more than 120,000 vehicles at 1,100 locations in 42 countries worldwide. It has built strong cooperation with several international airlines over the years and is a part of the frequent flyer programs of Lufthansa, British Airways and Air France.
