For a taste of clear mountain air, well-maintained hiking paths, breath-taking views and sporting challenges, Arab guests are now heading to the of Olympiaregion Seefeld in Austria.

Seefeld is fast gaining popularity for its beautiful golf courses in the Alps, adventure trails in Tyrol and some of the most demanding mountain bike trails.

Last year Seefeld saw 800 tourist arrivals from the Middle East, primarily from markets such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Average stay length varies from five days to three weeks.

According to Markus Tschoner, director of Olympiaregion Seefeld: “Our easy accessibility to Middle Eastern hubs like Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Innsbruk Airport have made Seefeld popular among the Arab guests. Moreover, we offer one of the finest ski slopes in Austria and have seen a lot of interest from Arab guests who are keen on winter sports activities.“

And in the summer months, Seefeld is an ideal family destination offering experiences such hiking through unspoilt nature, picnics by lakes and shopping.

This year Seefeld will reach out to agents and tour operators in the Middle East through road shows and exhibitions, such as Arabian Travel Market, to speak to agents and familiarise them with the region and luxury properties available for Arab guests. “We believe that if we join hands with Innsbruck and Vienna, the agents will have the ideal offering for guests with a combination of city and countryside experience,” he added.
