LE Gray is opening in Beirut’s central district this month, adding more charm to the already up-scale Solidere area.

The contemporary yet modern boutique property has 87 spacious rooms and suites, a cigar lounge, a bar, an open air pool, a spa, a gym and a hair salon. It also offers a variety of restaurants topped off with exceptional service. "The main points are great location, modern and stylish décor and exquisite service," said director of sales and marketing, Hala Hachache.

Le Gray was founded by Gordon Campbell Gray, founder and managing director of One Aldwych, a boutique hotel that was hailed as the most innovative luxury hotel in London when it opened in 1998, according to Hachache. The hotel, an AA top 200 property with five red stars and two rosettes, set new standards.

Campbell Gray is chairman of CampbellGray Hotels which he set up in 2003 to develop a small collection of international luxury hotels. Its first new opening was the Carlisle Bay Hotel on the Caribbean island of Antigua in late 2003.

Le Grey’s up to date structure sports many glass windows that allow sunlight to penetrate. An atrium reaches up to the roof top giving a sense of double volume and adding glamour to the sophisticated décor. Spacious rooms with subtle interiors and vast novel bathrooms that include a walk in shower and a bathtub with an aqua TV are offered.

Bookings are being confirmed for September according to Hachache. "We’re very excited about Le Gray. It’s bringing something new to the city," she said.
