THE recently opened doors of The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai, welcome guests to experience the glamour of the Golden Age of Old Shanghai.

Its rather unique Art Deco style attracts the fashionable and still has special opening room rates, which start at RMB1700 ($249) and will continue until August 31 this year.

The hotel’s Art Deco heritage is fused with the comfort of modern Shanghai. Each of the hotel’s 96 rooms and suites offers luxurious spacious surroundings, with many rooms having a private balcony or terrace allowing guests a good view of Shanghai’s bustling streets.

Amenities include broadband Internet and Wifi access, Internet protocol telephone, iPod docking station, DVD Player, 42” LCD TV in the bedroom and a 19” LCD TV in the marble bathroom.

Four restaurants, T’ang Court, Ciao Dining Room and Bambino, Mado Izakaya and and Palm Court offer many varied gastronomic delights. The Bar, an art deco inspired cocktail bar, is situated next to T’ang Court and offers a selection of vintage wines, fine champagnes and whiskeys.

Langham dates back to 1865 when The Langham in London originally opened as Europe’s first grand hotel. The group is pursuing an aggressive portfolio growth strategy using its distinctive brands and affiliate – The Langham, Langham Place and Eaton. Currently, 15 hotels, including affiliates, are open or in the pipeline across four continents.
