THE Marriott Berlin has a special package with an Arabic twist valid until August 31. It includes Arabic speaking front desk and guest service personnel, the provision of Arabic newspapers and TV channels, complimentary in-room amenities with the Holy Quran, dates and fresh fruits and a prayer room.

The hotel is also extending shopping transfers to KaDeWe, the biggest shopping mall in Europe, for guests with a flair for shopping and retail experience in Berlin.

General manager of the hotel Ronald Spicale has found that about 1.5 per cent of visitors come from the Middle East, and that this promotion was arranged to increase the brand awareness of the hotel and its Arab friendly environment.

He felt his hotel’s family friendly environment with its open lobby concept and modern styled atmosphere, service, and its creative Midtown Grill restaurant would appeal to the Arab market.

“During the weekend we are serving breakfast until 3 pm and are offering Arabic food on our breakfast buffet. In all our departments our associates speak Arabic,” he said.

The surrounding area would also appeal to Arabs – nearby was the large shopping mall Potsdamer Platz Arkaden, with cinemas and Lego World just around the corner.

“We already have several bookings from Arab long stay guests during the summer months,” he said.

The hotel has an indoor pool, sauna and fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment, 349 deluxe rooms, 21 superior rooms, eight junior suites, one capital suite, coupled with nearly 890 sq m of meeting and banquet space.

The entire package is available for $250 for a deluxe single room per night, with a $28 surplus for double occupancy.
