Jazeera Airways migrates to New Skies

JAZEERA Airways announced recently that it has signed a multi-year deal with Navitaire, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture, for a migration to its New Skies 3.0 next generation reservation system. This will allow the airline to provide customers with a more efficient reservation system and to bolster value creation for the airline.

New Skies is a comprehensive airline passenger sales and management solution providing capabilities for integrated Internet booking, call centre reservations, travel agency global distribution connectivity, inter-airline and alliance code share itineraries, real time reporting, ancillary revenue generation and departure control.

The technology, which will be implemented by the end of this year, is the only reservation system built completely on the latest generation IT and development technologies; and is designed to deliver flexibility and scalability to the airline.

The upgrade will enable Jazeera to offer passengers a ‘shopping cart’ function online: seamlessly integrating car hire, hotels, insurance and other online products into the booking process, which are then merged and sent to passengers as a single itinerary.

Jazeera Airways chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai said, “With plans for significant future business growth through the ongoing expansion of our network and increased fleet size; the reservation and distribution system at the core of our operations must be capable of providing an efficient and uninterrupted service to customers, while enabling us to integrate a wider range of services from third party suppliers for added convenience to passengers.”

“The Navitaire New Skies 3.0 system is the best fit for our business and will provide us with a sustainable base for consolidating and growing our operations,” Boodai added.
