The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kuwait is offering special packages to attract visitors to Kuwait during the country's popular Hala festival next month.
The five-star hotel located just three km from the airport and a 15-minute drive from the city centre, has also lined up attractive packages targeting business, long-staying and weekend travellers. For example, the weekend package offers not only competitive room rates but also a chance to win a free air tickets to Beirut for two people and complimentary membership of the hotel's health club, says a spokesman. Nadin Al Alami, Crowne Plaza Kuwait's public relations executive said that while the events related to the September 11 attacks in the US had some impact on the hotel initially, business had now returned to normal with occupancy boosted by the special deals offered by the hotel among other efforts. Al Alami added that the hotel had also benefited from the growing expansion of the tourism industry in Kuwait thanks to attractions such as the Hala Febraier festival which features shopping, shows and competitions aimed at attracting visitors. He said the event attracts not only local residents but also visitors from neighbouring Gulf countries, mainly Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The development of other tourist attractions such as the scientific centre, fish market, gold market, Sadu House, museums, Kuwait Towers, also helped boost the tourism sector, he said. The Crowne Plaza Kuwait which offers 330 well-appointed rooms and suites primarily targets business travellers and airline staff although it also aims to tap local and regional leisure travellers with its weekend packages. It provides a varied dining choice at its five restaurants featuring Japanese, Lebanese and Iranian specialty cuisine besides international buffet and coffee shop. The hotel has a fully equipped business centre which can provide complete secretarial assistance and banquet facilities which can accommodate up to 600 people. The hotel also provides a full range of sporting facilities, gym, parking for 400 cars, valet, laundry, beauty saloon, bookshop and rent a car services.
