Holistic approach to destination choices

EMIRATES Holidays launched its 2009-2010 brochure last month, and this year it has been condensed into one, easy to use format. The entire range of holiday options taking in 120 destinations can now be found within one edition.
“This format is better for racking and now travel agents display the whole brochure rather than parts of the brochures,” said John Felix, senior vice president, Emirates Holidays. “Condensing it also serves our environmental obligations – less paper is used.”
The destinations remain basically the same as before, but this year “we are presenting the destination in a richer fashion. We want people to see what else is available in the country and give them more options to suit family, single or couple travellers.”
“We have brought in trips that better present the destination, for example, guests can fly into one city and out another, take in other options to keep the flow of the traveller going, yet not incur additional expenses.”
He said that so far the new brochure had been well received by agents, who, having got used to the Emirates product in the air, could now benefit from these better ground options which they could offer to their customers “with confidence and we can back it up,” said Felix.
“On top of that we have brought in a green icon which is awarded to hotels that we use that have adopted an energy conservation programme or water recycling programme. We chose these two aspects for we as tour operators can actually co-ordinate, evaluate and verify these areas ourselves.”
“Despite the general downturn, getting away and having a holiday remains important and we are there to bring it all together. However much you are prepared to invest in the kind of break you want, we provide tailor made holidays to suit your needs and requirements.”
The almost 500 page brochure is available at all Emirates Holidays shops and travel agents across its international network. In addition, there will be also a dedicated brochure on the UAE, tailored editions for Russia, Mediterranean regions, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Plus there is an Arabic language brochure for exclusive distribution in the Middle East and Arabic speaking parts of Africa.
