A RECORD number of 8,100 visitors and hosted buyers was officially confirmed by an independent ABC audit to have attended the EIBTM 2008 event held in December in Barcelona last year.
Other top line statistics from the event included a 25 per cent increase (over 2007) in pre-scheduled appointments which topped 50,000; 2600 delegates participating in the education programme (30 per cent up on 2007); 3,725 hosted buyers (up over 12 per cent on the previous year). There was also an increase in visitors from all of the major markets over previous years including more visitors from Germany, France, Switzerland, France, UK, Italy and Spain. Europe represented 89.2 per cent of the total visitor attendance with the remaining 10.8 per cent from the rest of the world. EIBTM 2009 takes place from December 1 to 3 in Barcelona.
