Banyan Tree has new owner
BANYAN Tree Al Areen, Bahrain has been acquired by a Singaporean investor. It will continue to be fully managed by premium hospitality developer and manager, Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts.
Situated in the heart of the Al Areen development which is currently being built over an area of two million square metres in Bahrain’s southern region, Banyan Tree Al Areen opened its doors in April 2007. For the past 16 months, the resort has received many international awards and accolades including the Gala Spa Award for Best Luxury Hotel City/Resort 2008, Conde Nast Traveller’s list of Hot Spas, Tatler UK magazine’s 101 Best Spas and 101 Best Hotels 2008, Elite Traveler’s 101 Top Suites in the World and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Travel Award’s Gold Award for the Best New Resort Hotel 2007; setting a benchmark for Bahrain and further strengthening the Kingdom’s allure as a luxury destination.
Area general manager Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Angsana Riads Collection Marrakech, Sami Ayari said, “The onset of our new owning company brings with it many new opportunities, some of which have already started to positively impact the business as Banyan Tree Al Areen moves from strength to strength.”
“The resort continues to receive awards consistently reaffirming our standards of service, design and luxury as well as highlighting Banyan Tree’s reputed position in the wellness industry. Under new ownership we are able to offer several exclusive events in the run-up to the festive season, all culminating in our deluxe New Year’s Eve gala evening, ensuring the final quarter of 2008 is set to be a fantastic one,” he said.
Among Banyan Tree Al Areen’s latest additions is Vertigo, the resort’s new Oriental styled lounge and bar which opened last month.
