Jordan hosts exhibition

One of the Middle East’s major exhibitions for hotel equipment, materials and services takes place at the Amman Exhibitions Park in Jordan from October 28 to 30, 2008.

The 8th International Hospitality Forum is to be organised by Jordan’s Events Unlimited and Lebanon’s Hospitality Services. According to Samar Shawareb Ashkar, general manager of Events Unlimited, the Amman exhibition is expected to witness alliances among major companies for the first time, aimed at getting the business generated by the many new hotels in the region, some of which are still under construction.

Shawareb indicated the tourism hospitality sector is one of the most important economic sectors contributing to the gross domestic product and to the employment of labour in Jordan. She added that the importance of the participation in this event lies in the diversity of the activities and networking opportunities taking place during this three day forum.

According to Joumana Salame, managing director of Hospitality Services, the forum is the most important national annual meeting place for the hospitality and foodservice industries with more than 100 companies showcasing the latest products and services including food and drink, catering equipment, interiors, exteriors, tableware and technology.

Salamé added that the hospitality and hotel industry in Jordan is currently witnessing significant growth, and professionals of this sector would get the opportunity to attend educational attractions, discover the Culinary Art Show where top chefs from the industry participate, plus network with colleagues.
