The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced that a second hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg is to be built. The new property, the Park Inn Sandton, will feature 192 rooms and is expected to open its doors in April 2010. It will provide tourists and residents alike with an alternative to the currently under construction Radisson Hotel Sandton, is due to open in late 2008.
Already boasting a presence in South Africa, with the existing Radisson and Park Inn hotels in Cape Town, as well as the recently signed Radisson hotel in Port Elizabeth, this announcement is another feather in the cap for The Rezidor Hotel Group.
“South Africa is an upcoming destination for business and leisure travellers. The government has prioritised tourism as a key economic sector, and international arrivals increase continuously – we are expecting new heights in 2010 when the country hosts the FIFA World Cup,” said Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group.
