Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna about 240 kilometres from Abu Dhabi is until the end of August, offering single or double rooms inclusive of breakfast for Dh699 (6 per cent tourism fee and 10 per cent service charge not included). Based on a two night stay, there’s also a 15 per cent discount on all spa treatments and a 15 per cent discount in all the resorts food and beverage outlets. Friend goes free in Muscat
Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa in Muscat has spa and accommodation specials until September 30. Book one room for one night at either Al Waha or Al Bandar hotels starting from just $207 per night and guests can have a second room or second night at half the price. At CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La, guests taking a spa or salon treatment can bring a companion who is eligible to enjoy the same treatment for no charge. The treatments must be taken at the same time and advance bookings are required. Until August 31, Oman residents get 30 per cent off their total food and beverage bills when dining at selected restaurants of the resort.
Expressing summer offers
EXPRESS by Holiday Inn Dubai has special promotional summer rates. The rate for Internet City is Dh375, Safa Park which opened last month is Dh333 and Jumeirah (opening August 2008) offers Dh333 per room per night. Rates, for single and double occupancy and including continental breakfast, are valid until September 30. Prices are subject to 10 per cent service charge and 10 per cent municipality fee.
Courchevel, at the heart of the three Vallées area in France, offers plentiful activities for youngsters this summer. From July 2 to 26 there are one week long Sébastien Chabal rugby courses aimed at children between 8 and 15 years old. On July 5 and 6, there are the three Vallées free mountain biking circuits, teenage games featuring mountain biking, short track, climbing, cross-country, biathlon, acrobatics, archery, roller skating contest, and more will be held from July 12 to 14. There’s a ski jumping competition on July 19, called the Régis Bajard memorial. July 19 and 20 sees the Courchevel outdoor (cross-country adventure) where the mountain becomes a giant playing field for orienteering, mountain biking, archery, rope courses, mountain climbing and surprise events. From July 22 to August 22 there is also a Music Alp Festival.
