ZABEEL Properties last month announced the appointment of Rixos Hotels Group as the operator of Ottoman Palace, its new resort on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah.

As the first Ottoman themed hotel in Dubai, this five star hotel and villa project, which will open its doors in November 2008, will consist of 410 rooms and 38 villas, each with its own individual swimming pool and garden. Construction started in May 2007.
Announcing the appointment of the hotel group, Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, executive chairman of Zabeel Investments said, “The travel and tourism sector is fundamental to the growth of Dubai and the wider UAE, and visitors today are demanding more from their experiences. The number of travellers spending more than one night in the UAE is set to exceed 10 million by 2011 and we must continually raise the standard of service we offer to visitors, while at the same time producing environmentally sustainable projects that display our uncompromising focus on quality real estate.
“The Ottoman Palace does just that; providing guests with an experience that gives them the chance to escape, discover and surround themselves with opulent and traditional Turkish culture. We are delighted to announce this partnership with Rixos Hotels Group for the Ottoman Palace resort, which will be a valuable addition to Dubai.”
Fettah Tamince, entrepreneur and founder of Rixos Hotels Group, said, “Rixos has become recognised as an industry leader from a strong foundation for Turkish hospitality. The splendour and artistry of the Ottoman Palace by Rixos will be awe inspiring, taking guests back in time to experience the pomp, grandeur and exquisite culture of the once mighty Ottomans.”
Housed in a 97,000 square metre plot that includes 50,000 square metres of landscaping and associated amenities, the site is fronted by sea on two sides. It has been constructed by ZSML and managed by EC Harris.
The development will incorporate the world’s largest authentic Turkish spa. Covering 8,500 square metres, this signature hammam concept is unique to the Rixos Hotels Group, and will provide a revitalising spa offering a range of authentic ancient Turkish treatments with a modern and contemporary twist.
