A large wellness centre has opened at the Quellenhotel and Spa property in Bad Waltersdorf within the Styrian region of southern Austria.
The hotel, which was recently refurbished, lies within an area of spectacular natural beauty in a region famous for its thermal spring water with healing qualities.
The brand new Quellenoasis Private Spa lies on the edge of woodlands and offers fabulous rural view to the valley below and beyond. Space and relaxation are an essential part of the spiritual concept of this special facility which offers a wide range of experiences from sound, water and heat.
Through sliding glass walls the extensive indoor and outdoor sun deck allow the customers to enjoy the outdoors. The highlight is a natural lake created as a pool for swimming in the summer months and within this is an infinity thermal mineral water pool actually positioned in the lake itself.
Another special feature is a dedicated female sauna and relaxation area – the first of its kind in Austria.
Costing $7.37 million, the interiors of the Quellenoasis centre were designed by Zangger & Zangger with consultation from Schletterer Wellness & Spa Design. It is a three storey luxury spa created as a private facility for guests staying at the hotel. The spa covers 3,000 sq m.
Other facilities include steamrooms, meditation rooms and a relaxation area with rocking loungers and water beds.
Spa treatments include holistic signature therapies using traditional Styrian medicine and local produce such as apples, pumpkin oil and peat. Traditional Chinese medicine is also available as well as thermal mineral water therapy. Products from Decléor, Phytobiodermie and Valmont are used.
The new centre joins an existing 25,000 sq m day spa attached to the hotel, from which further treatments are available.
The newly refurbished four star Quellenhotel offers 209 comfortable rooms, bathrobes, spa towels, hair dryer, TV, some with fridge, bio non allergic rooms are available, with two restaurants at the hotel.
There is a direct passageway to the spa with relaxation rooms for hotel guests, a winter garden café with summer terrace, a Steirerstüberl (little room furnished the typical Styrian way), and a gymnasium.
