An alliance was formed at ATM between Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, and Merlin Entertainments Group, the world’s second largest visitor attraction group, to build Legoland parks across the Arab world.

Tatweer and Merlin Entertainment Group announced the launch of Legoland Dubailand - the first of its kind ever built outside North America and Europe.
The Dh912 million project, occupying a total of 3 million sq ft inside Dubailand, the world’s largest leisure and entertainment destination, Legoland Dubailand will feature more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions geared towards families with children ages 2 to 12.

“Choosing Dubai for the newest Legoland Park reflects the fact that Dubai is becoming a major holiday destination, not only for the region, but also for visitors worldwide.”
Merlin operates 58 attractions and six hotels in 12 countries. It operates well known attractions including Madame Tussauds, The London Eye, Dungeons, Alton Towers, Warwick Castle, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.
Currently, there are four Legoland Parks: in Billund in Denmark, Windsor just outside London, Deutschland near Günzburg, Germany and California in the USA.
Tatweer and Merlin will also work together on developing new concepts, such as themed hotels and other attractions.
