Andrew Abram has been named the new general manager of the Carlton Tower hotel in London which is being taken over by the Dubai-based Jumeirah International group.
Abram has worked with Jumeirah International for four years, the group said in a statement.
The Carlton Tower, which includes Monte's Club, is also undergoing extensive refurbishment.
The renovation programme began with the refurbishment of the Chinnoiserie Lobby Lounge, which will be completed by next month.
Jumeirah International has said it is taking over the management of The Carlton Tower and the Lowndes, in the heart of the city's Knightsbridge area, from the Hyatt Group.
The group already owns some world class properties in Dubai including the landmark Burj Al Arab and Emirates Towers hotels.
The takeover in London represents the Dubai group's first move overseas.
"We are delighted to be entrusted with the running of the Calrton Tower and the Lowndes, both world class hotels, which will be a welcome addition to our current portfolio," said Jumeirah International managing director Gerald Lawless.
"Jumeirah International prides itself on its unparalleled standards of service, and its commitment to staff training - it is significant that both of these London hotels are already highly regarded in these areas, and so area natural fit with our properties in Dubai."
