Palacios joins Hotel Dynamics
Ricardo Manriquez Palacios joins Hotel Dynamics as general manager and regional director, Middle East and Europe.

Prior to this he was with the InterContinental Hotel Group, as area director of sales and marketing, UAE and Qatar.

Movements  at Safir Healiopolitan Hotel
Safir Heliopolitan Hotel, Beirut recently welcomed Tarek Ammache (left) as general manager of the property. Prior to this, Ammache was hotel manager at Le Méridien Makkah, KSA. Zaman El Khazen has been promoted to executive assistant manager, sales and marketing.

New staff at the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai
The Metropolitan Hotel Dubai announced the appointment of Issam Nizam (left) as rooms division manager, Sonja Trapmann as public relations manager and Roujxhing Vajifdar as assistant director of sales. Vajifdar was previously with The Leela Palaca Kempinski in Bangalore.

Al Bustan Rotana welcomes Royer
The Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has appointed Franck Royer as the hotel’s new F&B director. He has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in the food and beverages department and has worked for five-star properties many countriesin.

Director role for Saadi
Rami Al Saadi has been appointed as director of sales at the  Royal Tulip Hotel, Dubai. Working in hotels industry since 1999, he started at Al Ain Rotana Hotel as sales executive then moved to the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi in the regional sales office.

New GM at Intercontinental Abu Dhabi
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Simon Stamper as the new general manager at InterContinental Abu Dhabi. Previously general manager at Holiday Inn in EMEA, Stamper has held general manager positions at both Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn London.

Sheraton Doha appoints new chef
The Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel appointed Mark Rowsell-Turner as executive chef. Rowsell-Turner started his professional career in his homeland Australia in 1994.  He worked as a chef in luxury cruise ships and as executive chef in Al Rawdha Palace, Bahrain.

Robinson joins Four Seasons Alexandria
Kevin Robinson has been appointed hotel manager at Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria. Robinson leaves his current post as director of rooms at Four Seasons Nevis in the West Indies. He began his career with Westin Hotels until he joined Four Seasons Dallas as Front Office Manager in 2002.

Addam appointed at BurJuman Rotana
Ibrahim Addam has been appointed front office manager at BurJuman Rotana. Addam ws previously assistant front office manager in Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa. He joined the Rotana family at Queen Centre Rotana in Damascus and moved to Dubai to Al Bustan Rotana.

Kempinski Hotel Aqaba appoints GM
Alejandro Bernabé has been appointed general manager of the Kempinski Hotel Aqaba. Bernabé has been with the Kempinski group for over a decade holding several management positions, including food and beverage manager at the Grand Hotel Europe in St Petersburg.

Six Senses appoints COO
Six Senses Resorts & Spas has appointed Jamie Waring as chief operating officer. He takes up this role from his previous position as managing director of the Six Senses Spas group. Six Senses also announced the promotion of Naim Maadad from area director to managing director - Middle East.

New faces at Cairo Marriott Hotel
The Cairo Marriott Hotel has appointed Nadia El Ansari (left) to director of sales and marketing. She brings with her 10 years experience in sales and marketing, with several Marriott Hotels. Gamal Morsy has been appointed as the director of rooms operation at the hotel.

Mehio joins InterContinental Al Jubail
The InterContinental Al Jubail, Saudi has appointed Ahmad Mehio as its new director of sales and marketing. Ahmad holds a BS degree in Business Management from American University of Science and Technology in Beirut; he started his IHG career in December 1999.

Nutley made non-executive president
Tom Nutley retires as chairman of Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) to a new part-time consultancy position of non-executive president of RTE. His role will be taken over by Richard Mortimore, RTE’s managing director.  Nutley founded RTE and became its first ever chairman in February 2003.

Viola takes charge as GM
Bernard Viola takes charge as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa.  Prior to this appointment, Viola has been hotel manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo; he had transferred from the same position at The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow. He helped open two Ritz-Carlton hotels in Beijing.

Issa moves into Golden Tulip Ajman
George Issa (left)has been appointed rooms division manager at the Golden Tulip Ajman. He was previously with Crowne Plaza Bahrain. The hotel also announced the appointment of Akilan Karthikeyan as human resources manager and Subhash Kurup as financial controller.

El Achcar promoted
Kempinski Hotels has pomoted Samer El Achcar to the position of director of global sales, managing the new outbound sales office. Prior to his new appointment, El Achcar was the area director of sales for the Middle East, where he was instrumental in attracting new business.

Radisson SAS Hotel Deira appoints Camelia
Camellia has been appointed executive assistant manager of the Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek. Camelia has worked in the MENA region for nearly 17 years. His last role included involement  in food and beverage revenue management.

New role for Ajami
Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts has appointed Kamel Ajami as area general manager for Dubai, Fujairah and Kuwait. In addition to his current capacity as general manager of Angsana Hotel & Suites Dubai he will also oversee the new developments in Dubai, Fujairah and Kuwait.
