Strategic positioning for Coleman
The Jumeirah group has announced the appointment of Kevin Coleman to the position of vice president market strategy. He was previously with the InterContinental Hotels group in Atlanta, Georgia, and prior to this, was with Accor Hotels. He holds a BBA in marketing from Texas A&M University.
Leading edge from Silverjet
Silverjet has appointed Jane Daly as head of UAE sales. Daly will be responsible for leading and delivering sales for the business class only airline which operates the Dubai to London route. She will be based in Dubai and report to Silverjet’s global sales and marketing director Katherine Gershon.
Vetry appointed at Sharq Village & Spa
Hossein Vetry has been appointed general manager of Sharq Village & Spa.
Vetry began his Ritz-Carlton career at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco in 1992 as the director of outlets and was previously hotel manager at the Portman Ritz-Carlton Shanghai before taking charge in Doha.
New faces at Millennium Towers Dubai
ILONA Maras (left) has been appointed manager of the Crystal Bar at the new Millennium Towers Hotel Dubai. After gaining her BA in hospitality management she worked with hotels in Greece, Cyprus and the UAE. Kashif Bakshi has been appointed as security manager. He was previously with the Fairmont Hotel.
Culinary expert arrives in Mzaar
Sami Khater has been appointed assistant food and beverage manager at InterContinental Mzaar, Lebanon. He has had 25 years of experience in the field, and has worked in many hotels in Beirut and Kuwait. Over the last eight years he has put many new culinary practices in place.
Golf club gets new F&B manager
Wally Jubran joins the Four Seasons Golf Club Dubai Festival City as food and beverage manager. He brings with him over 30 year’s experience. The Canadian Jubran comes to the UAE from Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, and prior to that he was at The Fairmont Dubai.

Jean Pierre Garat has joined Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi, as its new food and beverage director. Having worked with luxury hotels in Europe and the Middle East, the French national has a wealth of experience. Previously he was at The Monarch Dubai.
Al Bustan Rotana welcomes Touma
The Al Bustan Rotana Hotel has announced the appointment of Thomas Touma as the hotel’s new resident manager. Touma was previously the executive assistant manager at Gefinor Rotana Hotel in Beirut. He started his career in Europe and has over 10 years in the hospitality industry.
Bur Dubai hotel gets new team
Mِvenpick Hotel Bur Dubai announced two new appointments. Abdo Kayali joins as director of sales and marketing and Michael Kasch (left) takes charge as the hotel’s executive assistant manager. Kasch was previously director of F&B at Accor Hotels World Trade Centre and Taj Palace Hotel.
Monarch Dubai appoints Pichler
The Monarch Dubai has appointed Werner Pichler as director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining The Monarch Dubai, he was with Hilton chain, where he was director of business development at the Hilton Zurich Airport.
Riyadh welcome for Dartnell
Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh has appointed Andrew Dartnell as its new hotel manager. The hotelier, who has over 25 years of international hospitality experience, arrives from Four Seasons Hotel Doha. Dartnell started his career with the Taj Hotels & Resort Group at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Bombay, India.
InterContinental appoints Sawaya
Fady Sawaya has recently joined the InterContinental Abu Dhabi as rooms division manager. Sawaya is from the InterContinental Hotels group family. He has been working with the company for the past six years at InterContinental Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Phoenicia InterContinental in Beirut, Lebanon.
Rothbarth appointed GM
Swiss-Belhotel Inter-national Middle East has announced the appointment of Nils Rothbarth as the pre-opening general manager of their first Dubai property, Gold Swiss-Belhotel Dubai. Rothbarth has worked in Germany and South Africa and was general manager, Garden Court, Sandton City.

Issam Nizam (left) has recently been appointed rooms division manager at Metropolitan Hotel Dubai. Nizam brings over 19 years of experience in the USA hospitality industry. Sonja Trapmann has been appointed public relations manager and Roujxhing Vajifdar has joined as assistant director of sales.
Upward move for Yash Singhal
Yash Singhal has been promoted to assistant food and beverage manager at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Muscat. Singhal, who joined the hotel as restaurant and in-room dining manager, will now also help oversee the food and beverage outlets.
Safir Heliopolitan welcomes Ammache
Safir Heliopolitan Hotel, Beirut has a new general manager - Tarek Ammache. He started in the hospitality industry in 1988 with Le Méridien Paris Montparnasse. Later he was at Le Méridien Paris Etoile as sales manager for the Middle East, and then joined Le Scribe Sofitel Hotel.
New move at Sheraton Bahrain
The Sheraton Bahrain Hotel announced the appointment of Michele Magrone as director of sales and marketing. He has had 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in five star properties in France, Italy, UK, Ireland, Qatar, Bahrain and Dubai. He was last with Starwood Hotels.
Mِvenpick Doha move for Bonnot
Philippe Bonnot has been appointed general manager of the Mِvenpick Tower & Suites Doha. He has held various positions in France, England, French Polynesia and Switzerland including Hotel des Bergues in Geneva. He takes up his new role following four years at Le Meridien Hotel in Brussels.
New GM at Swiss-Belhotel, Oman
Swiss-Belhotel Inter-national has appointed Muzaffer Bulgurcuoglu as general manager of its new Oman property, Sohar Beach. Prior to joining the hotel he was general manager of the Holiday Inn Port Harcourt, Nigeria. His experience includes an impressive 13 year stint with IHG hotels in Nigeria, Zambia and Turkey.
