Sleeping under the stars
InterContinental Hong Kong has packages within its new specialty suites offering large outdoor terraces with infinity edge jacuzzis, teak decks and panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

The terrace suite experience, offering a two night stay in the new suite, includes a 24 hour butler service, a special outdoor bedroom set up one night under the stars, along with Bentley chauffeured limousine transfers, a bottle of Dom Perignon upon arrival, plus a private dinner for two on the harbour view terrace. Guests can have a couples I-Spa treatment and private tai chi class on the suite’s private terrace, plus a butler drawn candlelit romance bath in the suite’s jacuzzi. Upon request, the concierge can arrange an evening harbour cruise for two to view the nightly Symphony of Lights. Cost is $14,139.

Dead Sea massage delights
ZARA Spa at the Mِvenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea in Jordan is promoting a two hour long mother's day package for March which includes a sweet and savory body scrub, aromatherapy massage and facial. Cost: $216. For April, its spring break package offers a mud wrap containing herbal essences, aromatherapy full body massage, and a mini mud facial. The treatment lasts for two and a quarter hours and costs $224. Permanent packages include the King Salomon consisting of one hydro bath salt therapy, a Dead Sea mud wrap, full body oriental massage and hot towel steam facial. For a whole day it costs $254. The Queen of Sheba treatment consists of a Dead Sea salt scrub, mud wrap, full body oriental massage and healing mud facial. For the whole day it costs $254. Also available are three to seven day spa journeys ranging from $491 to $969.

Colonic hydrotherapy for March
For the month of March the Imar Spa in Umm Al Quwain offers an overnight detox special that includes accommodation, meals, a colonic hydrotherapy session and a one hour ‘revelation de soie’ (the latest Carita massage) massage for Dh1,250. Imar Spa is situated on a private sandy beach overlooking the islands of Umm Al Quwain. It is well known in the region as spa destination for treatments for colonic hydrotherapy - the removal of toxins and waste from the colon. Al Raha highlights Sundari
The Beauty and Soul Spa at the Al Raha Beach Hotel in Abu Dhabi offers a complete range of treatments but specialises in its Sundari range.  “Sundari is a completely different treatment to any other,” said Phillip Matome, currently acting manager for the hotel’s spa and recreation operations. “We are the main spa in this region to be using Sundari, a collection of skincare products created from natural ingredients.” The most favoured treatments at Al Raha’s spa 60 minute facials, customised to suit each individual’s specific needs. Exfoliation is carried out and marmassage - pressure point stimulation - completes the experience. Another popular treatment is the neem healing facial also lasting 60 minutes, and the أkarshan face treatment of 60 minutes targets men’s skin—again using the healing power of neem.

Balinese massage tops Chedi list
The Spa at The Chedi Muscat, specialises in Balinese therapies based on fresh organic ingredients for the body and face. All beauty treatments in the spa use Jurlique Australia’s natural skin care products. The spa has seven treatment rooms. Signature therapies include The Chedi massage and Balinese massage, or total body rituals such as the seaweed bath or the milk bath. Costs: One and a half hour Balinese body massage $91; 30 minute Cleopatra milk bath $40. Room rates per person range from a standard room for $416 to The Chedi club suite for $1,092. These rates include breakfast and are subject to 17 per cent tax and service charge.  In addition, the following benefits are included in some rooms including the Chedi Club Suites (for 2 persons): daily continental breakfast, cocktails and canapés, complimentary drinks from the mini-bar, discounted rental rate on chauffeur driven limousine.

Tip of the iceberg
Available until December 28, 2008 is an Ayuverdic spa package from the Softouch Spa at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. The new spa package offers guests comfortable, spacious rooms combined with a spa treatment. The package includes a stay in one of the hotel’s luxurious rooms and a breakfast buffet. As part of the spa package guests may choose from a selection of 55 minute treatments offered in the Softouch Spa including Ayurvedic massage, lymphatic massage, reflexology, Chinese acupressure massage, sun bronzing natural, pregnancy massage, hot stone therapy, sport massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, Balinese massage and oriental massage.

Facials and fingerprints
The Madinat Jumeirah is offering several packages until March 31. The following deal is for a three night stay for two in a club room, or a junior Arabian suite in Al Qasr or an Arabian summerhouse in Dar Al Masyaf, airport transfer from and to Dubai International Airport with a meet and assist service guiding you through fast track, access to the club lounge and facilities, complimentary breakfast, an 80 minute Talise fingerprint massage or facial plus 30 minute facial cleanse and massage per person per stay. Examples of rates and rooms include: Mina A’Salam Arabian club executive room Dh4,380 ($1,190) ; Gulf Arabian one bedroom suite Dh8,280 ($2,250); at Al Qasr Arabian club executive room Dh5,160 ($1,400) and junior Arabian suite Dh6,000($1,600); at Dar Al Masyaf Arabian summerhouse Arabian deluxe suite Dh8,460 ($2,300). The Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa offers an overnight stay and one of Satori Spa’s signature treatments. Rates start from Dh2,650 ($720) per couple to include a superior room, breakfast and a choice of spa treatments for both men and for women. Costs for a single package is from Dh2,150 ($585).

Banyan’s Hydro thermal garden
Banyan Tree Al Areen offers packages and tailor made treatments. A spa pleasure programme includes an orientation tour, a facial, body treatments using freshly made body scrubs, daily massages and manicures and pedicures. Also available is a hydro thermal garden and a wellness centre with facilities including cardio and weight training equipment and swimming pools. Accommodation is in the desert pool villa or royal pool villa and includes dinner, bed and breakfast.
Costs for a three day package (four nights) in the desert pool villa start at $5,228 for a single, $6,642 for a double; and in the royal pool villa it will be $7,917 for double and $10,744 for quadruple accommodation.
A detox programme package includes a spa orientation, a full health assessment, daily access to fitness classes, personal training sessions, a hydrothermal garden session, and a daily choice of spa treatments. Accommodation is in the desert pool villa or royal pool villa, and the package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of their restaurants.
Costs start, for a three day package (four nights) in a desert pool villa at $5,180 for a single, $6,546 for a double; and in the royal pool villa it will be $7,821 for a double and $10,553 for a quadruple.
