The Riyadh Inter-Continental Hotel has completed a multi-million dollar renovation programme, presenting a new face to travellers, meetings planners and the local community.

The centerpiece of the hotel's SR11.5 million ($3.06 million) renovation is the ballroom, which has created a combination of the most sophisticated meeting space and elegant ballroom available in the city for weddings and social gatherings.

Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon of France, the ballroom keeps pace with the increasing demands of business travellers, providing upgraded amenities and an exceptional level of personalised service to ensure smoother meeting arrangements for visitors from across the Middle East and overseas.

"With nine Inter-Continental hotels in the Kingdom, it is important that the Inter-Continental remains a brand associated with superior quality and comfort, and renovations like these provide a commitment to travellers coming to Saudi Arabia," said sales and marketing director Mohamad Dkeidek.

Following extensive research, which revealed that business travellers visiting the Kingdom spend more time in their hotels than their counterparts in other countries, the Riyadh Inter-Continental has also renovated its health club at a cost of SR2.5 million.

The new-look club includes the latest technology with a human touch such as, the latest range of Stairmaster cardio machines and Icarian resistance machines, a variety of massage treatments and a computerised fitness testing room.
