Ramada Hotel Bahrain has won the group's environmental initiative award for last year in recognition of the hotel's efforts to minimise energy and water consumption during the year.
The Ramada International Environmental Initiative Award was launched in 1999 and is given annually to the hotel in the group achieving the best environment practises.
The award is given for environmental programmes initiated and undertaken during a year which also benefit the local and global environment and community, said general manager Rohan Karunaratne.
The results of the programme must be measurable and verifiable.
Hotels in the group are nominated for the award by Ramada International or its associates.
Nominations are supported by written documentation outlining details of the programme and results achieved.
