SONESTA International Hotels Corporation has announced the Sonesta Pharaoh Beach Resort Hurghada, its 12th property in Egypt. As of January 1, 2008, the 360-room resort will operate under the Sonesta flag, the result of a new management agreement between Sonesta International Hotels Corporation and Sheranco for Tourism Projects.
The resort (previously known as Melia Pharaoh) is located on Hurghada Beach on the Red Sea, just 5 miles from the airport, 10 miles from downtown and 175 miles from Luxor.
Resort amenities include: two outdoor swimming-pools, a children’s pool, an indoor pool, on-site Scuba-diving centre with hotel-owned coral reef for diving and snorkelling, fitness centre, sauna, massage, two tennis courts, two paddle courts, hockey pitch and mini golf course. Dining options include two fine-dining restaurants and a café, a pool bar, beach bar and lounge. The resort also features over meeting space for groups of up to 300 guests.
Sonesta has been operating deluxe hotels in the Middle East since 1982, primarily in Egypt, and is looking forward to managing this spectacular beach resort in Hurghada. The Sonesta Pharaoh Beach Resort Hurghada will be the seventh Sonesta hotel in the Egypt and will bring the total (including the ships on the Nile) to 12 managed properties in the country.
