Three new Fairmont hotels for Cairo

FEATURING a collection of fabled castles, secluded lodges, storied meeting places and modern retreats in 12 countries, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is planning to open three hotels in Cairo; Fairmont Towers, Heliopolis, Fairmont Nile City, and Fairmont Heliopolis.

Fairmont Towers, Heliopolis is scheduled to open fall 2007. Centrally located and 10 minutes from the international airport, the hotel will encompass 247 rooms, extensive conference facilities, spa, atrium garden and dining outlets. 
The Fairmont Towers, is located in Heliopolis, and designed to have 247 guest rooms including ten suites, Fairmont Towers is built to reflect contemporary and art deco designs.
Named after ancient Egyptian precious stones and Red Sea treasures, the conferences and catering facilities brag more than 4,500 sqm of banqueting space and innovative themed coffee breaks, breakfast packages, lunch buffets, and cocktail reception tidbits are particularly designed to ensure an air of unrivalled luxury in unforgettable settings with emphasis on culinary magic and personalized service.
Amber, Turquoise, Onyx, and Coral are 130 sqm each. Granite is 100 sqm and The Canyon is 1800 sqm and it could be divided into four sections using partitions; Colored Canyon, White Canyon, Blue Canyon, and Rock Canyon.
Comprised of five floors, Fairmont Towers has 128 rooms overlooking the atrium and 119 rooms with a view of the pool and gardens. With an approximate area of 50 sqm, all rooms have a wide window or a terrace, mini bar, and a separate bathroom equipped with a sound system, standing rain shower, and bathtub.
The three deluxe one-bedroom suites, on the first three floors have bullet proof glass and a Jacuzzi.
The second Fairmont flag will  brand the currently operated as Hotel Heliopolis. The 558 room hotel is to undergo a three-phased renovation plan over the period of two years then it will be branded as the Fairmont Heliopolis.
Project partners include Gulf-Egypt for Hotels & Tourism, United Real Estate. and Kuwait Projects Company.
A third flag will be flown at the 552-room Fairmont Nile City which is scheduled to open summer 2008.  Overlooking Egypt’s Nile River, The Fairmont Nile City will be just 30 minutes from the Sphinx and Great Pyramids of Giza.  It will house four restaurants, four bars and lounges, a business center and meeting space. 
The rooftop, overlooking the Nile and the Pyramids, will feature one of the restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub and outdoor function space.  Project partners include Nile City Investments Company and Kingdom Hotel Investment Group.
