Le Royal Meridien ... perfect setting in Bahrain for a holiday or business traveller.

Nestled along the turquoise blue waters of Manama Bay, Le Royal Meridien provides the perfect setting for a vacationer or a business traveller to make the most of Bahrain.

A 600-metre private beach and a private island define the hotel's Royal Sporting Club which also includes an extensive fitness centre, temperature controlled indoor and outdoor pools, hammam (steam bath), saunas, squash court, tennis courts, plus a wide range of water sports.

Adding to its resort appeal the hotel features the Royal Spa, an exclusive facility for ladies, which now also offers selected treatments for men in a private VIP suite adjacent to the main spa.

The private beach provides a variety of water sports including jetskiing, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water boarding, windsurfing and sailing.

The Royal Spa spreads over 2,000 square metres on two floors interconnected by a glass elevator. The rotund lobby area features a retail shop selling cosmetics, skin care and sports wear and the Tiare restaurant which serves a low fat, low salt healthy cuisine.

The ground floor also has changing facilities for up to 36 people, a steam room, sauna and cold water plunge pool, a spacious relaxation room, waiting room, lifestyle consultation room and an internal reception along with nine multifunctional treatment rooms each with their own shower, one hydrotherapy room and one hydrotherapy suite, affusion massage shower, jet blitz, and finally the multijet thalasso pool which has a capacity of five clients per time.

All water treatments use salt water which is pumped from the Bahrain shoreline through a treatment plant room situated at the back the spa.

The spa offers half-day packages which gives the client free use of the steam room, sauna and plunge pool, a complimentary thalasso multijet pool and an assortment of treatments between two and three for the package.

A full day package includes use of the gym, aerobics, steam room and sauna, a complimentary thalasso multijet pool, light lunch and between three to five treatments.

The spa offers a wide range of cosmetic and holistic therapies such as Thai massage, Shiatsu, Yoga and synchronised massage involving two therapists, reflexology, remedial massage, Hydradermie facials, aromatheraphy and of course thalassotherapy.

It has an all female team of 36.

The latest addition to the hotel's exquisite grounds is the Royal Marina. With a 40-space car park, 22 berths, 14 dry berths, washdown and refuelling facilities, it makes for the perfect setting for club members to cruise into and enjoy the hotel's facilities.

Facilities in the hotel also include a selection of designer boutiques, a ladies hair and beauty salon and a men's hair salon.

Just across the bay, accessible by golf cart, the private island is the ideal place for a peaceful sunbathes.

"We can organise any special event and bring in chefs, butlers, music makers, tents or anything that suits the occasion," said a hotel spokesperson.

Le Royal Meridien has 182 deluxe rooms, 17 studio rooms, 22 suites and 43 Royal Club rooms.
