22,000 more hotel rooms will come online in Dubai by the end of 2008, a Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing official told Gulf News.
Dubai would have attracted more tourists in 2006 but for shortage of hotel rooms, according to Khalifa Ali Buamaim, DTCM’s director of overseas promotions. Dubai had 415 hotels and furnished apartments offering about 40,000 rooms last year, the DTCM said.
