Two more Four Points in Dubai
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is increasing its portfolio of leading hotels in Dubai with the addition of two new Four Points by Sheraton hotels, due to open before the end of 2007.
The 252-room The Four Points Sheraton Downtown (above) in Makhool has already opened its doors, while the 390-room Four Points by Sheraton Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, scheduled to open later on this year, is strategically located in heart of the city’s financial and commercial district on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Hilton to manage resort in RAK
Hilton Hotels Corporation, the US hotel chain that agreed this month to be bought by US private equity company Blackstone, said it has signed an agreement with RAK Properties to manage a resort in Ras Al Khaimah. Located in Mina Al Arab, a Dh10-billion ($2.7 billion) freehold real estate development, the Hilton Mina Al Arab Resort will open in the first quarter of 2010 and will be Hilton’s third hotel in the emirate. All 400 rooms of the hotel will face the sea. The hotel will have a beach spanning 300 metres.
Premier to add 5,000 rooms
Premier Inn aims to open 5,000 rooms in the GCC in the next five years. The UK budget hotel brand will establish its fourth property in the UAE at the Capital Centre in Abu Dhabi. The 250-room hotel will be near the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Premier is building hotels at Dubai Investment Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis and one near Dubai airport.

DWTC to pick hotel operators
The Dubai World Trade Centre will pick operators for three hotels in its new $4.35bn complex in about two months, Gulf News reported. Talks are being held with five international hotel companies, director-general Helal Al Marri told the daily. Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Accor are said to be among the companies being considered to run the three, four and five-star hotels.
Ground broken at Business Bay
KM Properties, the real estate arm of Dubai-based business conglomerate KM Holding, celebrated the landmark ground breaking of its mixed use commercial, retail and hotel project, Tamani Hotel at Park Lane, at Business Bay. The new hotel is located at the heart of Business Bay, which runs from the city’s Sheikh Zayed Road alongside the new creek and deined by world-renowned architect Carlos Ott
Jebel Ali signs Seychelles contracts
JEBEL Ali International has signed two hotel management contracts in the Seychelles with Trinity Estates and Trinity Waterfront.
The two properties, Round Island and The Waterfront, will be managed by Jebel Ali International Hotels on behalf of the Enchanted brand, a new Seychelles based hospitality company.
