The new package is one of 12 brand new adventures launched by the firm last month. They span several countries including Russia, Yemen, Ukraine, Papua New Guinea, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.
The company’s website, intrepidtravel.com, says the trip takes visitors ‘to Saudi Arabia’s ‘Little Petra’ Madain Saleh, the timeless rock villages of the Asir Mountains, as well as visiting local farming communities in the world’s largest oasis, explore Riyadh, visit ancient souqs, learn about the Muslim religion in the birthplace of Islam, be astounded by the stunning underwater scenery of the Red Sea, take a Bedouin 4WD tour through the Al-Nafud Desert to view prehistoric rock art’.
Intrepid’s Kingdom of Saudi Arabia costs £1750 per person, land-only and includes 13 nights guesthouse/hotel accommodation and one night desert camping. Some meals are included and a local payment of $200 is required on arrival. Book through intrepidtravel.com/ess.
