SPA consultants YZ Spas are looking to bring the health farm concept to the Middle East and will be visiting the Arabian Travel Market to meet with potential clients, says the company’s founder, Yvette Zaroukian, who has several years’ experience in the Middle East and Europe.
“It is a concept with tremendous potential for the region,” she says, pointing out that it would appeal across segments, to expatriates and nationals, to leisure and business travellers. “Guests can come on their own or as a couple, and combine health check-ups with a holiday.”
A typical health farm would need about 40 rooms, with each guest staying between eight and ten days and availing of a treatment that is personalised to their needs, from weightloss to skin problems, she says. All treatments would be based on phytotherapy or plant therapy.
“A lot of people in the region go to Europe once a year, but if such a facility were to be offered in the region, clients would potentially visit it at least two or three times a year,” elaborates Soulla Kilikita, associate partner, YZ Spas,
The company, which has offices in Dubai and Beirut, offers turnkey services for spas, health farms and fitness centres, offering everything from feasibility studies to project designs and execution and staff training. “Our strength comes from our ability to coordinate these competencies in a unique consulting practice,” says Zaroukian. “With each spa we open, we try and give it something unique and different. We take into consideration the different cultures and traditions relative to each country and adapting accordingly for each project.”
YZ Spas has executed projects in Italy, Switzerland, France and Tunisia. More details are available at www.yz-spas.com
