As of November this year, Mِvenpick’s Nile fleet, which already encompasses three luxury cruisers, will be augmented by the new Mِvenpick M/S Royal Lily.
The move follows an agreement to strengthen the brand’s partnership with the Nile Exploration Corporation. Following the takeover of a further vessel called Mِvenpick M/S Prince Abbas, the company’s presence will also be extended to Lake Nasser.
The Nile Exploration Corporation already owns the Mِvenpick M/S Royal Lotus, which celebrated her maiden voyage in November 2005, and which in 2006 was named the best Nile cruiser by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
“The positive and well-functioning partnership between us and Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts in conjunction with Royal Lotus formed the basis for the signing of a further management agreement,” said Nagui Erian, CEO of Nile Exploration Corporation.
Jean Gabriel Pérès, president & CEO Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts, said: “The floating ‘boutique-hotels’ offer fewer cabins than customary, which means our guests will enjoy larger rooms, spacious public areas and additional amenities.”
The new fully air-conditioned Mِvenpick M/S Royal Lily will be a sister ship to Royal Lotus and disposes on 56 comfortable cabins (21.5 m2). These are located in the upper decks, in order to allow guests unhindered views of the spectacular scenery along the Nile.
Those who prefer an even more luxurious setting will feel well-accommodated in one of the four royal suites (approx. 42 m2).
The second new addition to the Mِvenpick fleet is to be found on Lake Nasser: The Prince Abbas is due to undergo a comprehensive refit and modernisation, and is scheduled to be relaunched in November as Mِvenpick M/S Prince Abbas. Five fully air-conditioned decks with exterior promenades, as well as 65 cabins, including 18 Junior Suites and four Royal Suites, ensure upscale comfort.
