Jumeirah launches new spa brand, expands to Bermuda
THE Jumeirah Group has revealed Talise, a pioneering spa concept set to revolutionalise the industry.
Talise will be available in selected Jumeirah hotels and resorts with the first spa now open at Madinat Jumeirah – The Arabian Resort, in Dubai. Future openings include the Jumeirah Beach Club Resort and Spa when it re-opens following a complete redevelopment in December 2007, Jumeirah Business Bay; Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa; and HanTang Jumeirah Shanghai in 2008.
Talise is designed around a person-centric model to ensure the selection of treatments and spa experiences can be tailored to guests looking for a life-changing programme or tranquility and pampering for just an hour at a time.
Jumeirah developed the concept over the last eight months. Three key models have been created to roll out Talise within Jumeirah: urban, resort and destination spas.
Anni Hood, director of spas for Jumeirah Group, said: “Talise achieves a conceptual renaissance in what is both traditional and historic in spas today. It is a contemporary spa brand and model focused on the cohesion of selected modalities, innovation and luxury. Talise shatters the boundaries of spa convention and is designed to create a one-of-a-kind experience in integrated wellbeing luxury.”
The signature spaces and facilities in Talise spas will provide contemplative, meditative and therapeutic environments designed to instrumentally guide the guest on their journey of self discovery. These experiential surroundings will be individual and uniquely designed and styled to suit each spa location and type.
One such signature, the ‘Chakra Journey’, will guide guests through the spaces within the spa through the purposeful use of chakra colours – all known to positively affect emotions, moods and feelings, said Hood.
In related news, Jumeirah is set to manage the first new luxury resort to be built in Bermuda in 35 years, pending approval by government agencies. The Jumeirah Southlands Resort is to open in mid-2008.
Situated on 37 acres of natural beauty on Bermuda's prestigious South Shore, it will have 300 spacious balcony suites, including 17 incomparable two-story suites built into beach cliffs, five restaurants and bars, a nightclub and outdoor entertainment space, a complete spa, over 1,700 feet of beach, numerous pools, an executive conference centre, an equestrian centre and a collection of luxury boutiques. Approximately half the accommodations will be offered for fractional vacation residence ownership.
