Ali appointed at Somerset Jadaf
Isahak Mohammed Ali has been named gene-ral manager, Somerset Jadaf, Dubai. Ali has worked for major hotel chains such as Shangri-La, Holiday Inn and Dynasty.

Isahak has been associated with the Ascott group from 1995 and has managed properties in different locations. He joined as front office manager of The Ascott, Singapore.

Kempinski strengthens Ajman team
Eva Cordewener has been appointed the new assistant PR and marketing manager for the Kempinski Hotel Ajman. Prior to this appointment, she was part of the team managing a loyalty programme for one of the leading business hotels in Dubai where she was actively involved in customer relations and membership sales.

Gulf Hotel’s New management officers
Bahrain’s Gulf Hotel has made several key appointments: Robert Overend (left) joins as director of sales and marketing, Theunis Bezuidenhoudt as director of human resources and development, Idris Derrij as assistant F&B manager and Ghislaine Van der Born has been named rooms division manageress.

New managers for Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has named Christina Vidos (centre) as its corporate sales manager UK and Tanil Shah (right) as leisure sales manager UK. Vidos was previously account manager corporate (South), while Shah was account manager leisure (South), for three years. Both are pictured here with Rick Saggar, country manager UK.

New name at Airbus Middle East
Airbus Middle East has appointed Fouad Attar as vice president, commercial. He was earlier vice president in charge of worldwide marketing and sales at Air France. Attar, a veteran in the aviation industry with over 20 years of experience heads all commercial activities, including marketing, sales, contracts and customer relations.

New posts at Rotana Hotels
Rotana Hotels has named two marketing executives for its new hotels: AnaMarija Raickovic at Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa and Carla Adwan (left) at  Burjuman Rotana Suites. Raickovic has been account manager with Ogilvy & Mather in Belgrade. Adwan was till recently brand sales manager in Abi Nasr coffee, in Lebanon.

New role for for El Zyr
Makram El Zyr has been promoted to F&B manager at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites. He has been associated with Rotana Hotels since 2003 and began started his career as junior assistant F&B manager. He has been part of the dynamic pre-opening team of Al Murooj Rotana and helped launch all the dining venues at the property.

Nagler goes to Four Seasons Cairo
Reinhold Nagler has been appointed director of food and beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the Nile Plaza. 
He took over his new position on December 1 and will oversee the hotel’s eight food and beverage outlets, in-room dining offerings, banqueting and outside catering services.

kBahrain board member for Gulf Air
Michael Wette has joined Gulf Air’s Board of Directors, where, together with existing members, he will represent the Bahrain shareholding. He has served several airlines on strategic assignments in network management, pricing, operational issues and planning. He is also partner and MD at Roland Berger Middle East in Bahrain. 

Key posting at Culture Village
Dubai Properties has appointed DTCM manager Marwan bin Beyat as its business development director for Culture Village. Beyat spent eight years with the DTCM, three of which were in managerial roles. He is a member of Young Arab Leaders – UAE Chapter and a board member of the DIFC art committee.

Changes at Mövenpick Bur Dubai
Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai has named Bashar Younes (left) its new assistant human resources manager. He was earlier assistant human resources and  purchasing group manager for Sharjah National Hotels. Other appointments include Lincoln Davis as director of training and Mickael Chevalier as banquets manager.

New role for Nettleton, Torrin
Elaine Nettleton moves to the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts regional office in Dubai as director of communications, ME. She will oversee the PR, branding, external and internal communications for properties in the region. Philippe Torrin joins the group as director of technical services, for the Middle East.

NAS appoints new CEO
National Air Services (NAS) has announced the appointment of Taher Agueel (left) as its new chief executive officer.
He joins NAS following a career in investment banking for government agencies and financial institutions. Until recently, he was CEO at Deutsche Al Azizia Financial Services.

Etihad Airways appoints Burns
Etihad Airways has appointed Iain Burns as its new vice president of corporate communications.
Burns previously held the same position for five years at British Airways in London. He joined BA from the PR consultancy Bell Pottinger, who handled PR programmes for Dubai-based Emirates.

Global Village names CEO
Dubai’s Global Village has appointed as its CEO Abdulredha Ali Bin Redha. He was previously head of sales at the Dubai Industrial City.
He started his career in 1994, with the Emirates Group and has also been board member of several committees set up by Dubai Investment and Development Authority.
