Tee off at Le Meridien
THROUGH to September 2007, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi, situated in the heart of the city, is offering various golf packages.

A single deluxe room comes at Dh960, including one round of Golf at the National or Garden Course any day of the week and a complimentary pull trolley, while a deluxe double room comes at Dh1370, with one round of golf per person at either course. Le Meridien Abu Dhabi is surrounded by lush gardens, set between the sparkling high-rises of the city and the indigo waters of the Arabian Gulf.

Marriott offers green Dubai
THE four-star Courtyard by Marriott Dubai Green Community has created an Escape! Golf package for golfers of all levels. Beginning at Dh500++ ($136) per room per night, the package is only available for a minimum of two nights’ stay, and includes deluxe guestroom accommodation, daily breakfast for two, airport transfers, a one-time private transfer to and from the golf course and a one-time green fee. For those looking for the luxury golf getaway, the JW Marriott Dubai has a similar package, with prices beginning at Dh1005++ per room per night. A minimum stay of two nights’ stay over a Friday is required.

Four Seasons serves up Provence
THE Four Seasons Golf Club at Terre Blanche features two 18-hole, par-72, championship golf courses with some of the best year-round golfing in Europe. Designed by former professional golfer Dave Thomas, the the Le Château and Le Riou courses enjoy sweeping views of the neighbouring villages and Southern Alps and wind through spectacular pine- and oak-lined hills. A two-night golfing package includes luxurious accommodation, American breakfast for two, two rounds of golf per room, per day. Prices begin at 345 euros ($443.5) for a superior Four Seasons executive suite and range to 745 euros for a premier one bedroom villa. Packages for expert and beginner players are also available.

The balls dissolve at Kanuhura
THE One&Only Kanuhura is being billed as the only luxury resort in the Maldives to offer golf as a leisure activity, and has introduced bio-degradable golf balls that dissolve safely in water, ultimately turning into fish food. This enables guests to spend time on the jetty, practising their swing and driving balls deep into the ocean. The 100-villa resort is surrounded by a turquoise lagoon and offers seven F&B outlets, a Spa, pool, and more.
