OFFICIALS at the Four Seasons are very excited about the group’s new property in Alexandria, which is slated to open in the first quarter of 2007.

“This is our first entry into Alexandria and we are looking forward to it,” Four Seasons Hotels Egypt senior director of marketing Cesare Rouchdy said. “Alexandria has never been exposed to a luxury product like this before and the market is ready and waiting,” he said.
The property is located at the San Stefano project which is a landmark in Alexandria.
“The hotel will be unique. It will be the right place to combine business with pleasure. The shopping mall there is already open and the residential complex is set to open by the end of this year,” he said.
The hotel has 119 rooms including 32 suites classified into different categories. The rooms are classified into deluxe, pool terrace and sea view rooms, while suites are classified into Four Seasons suites, sea view suites, one bedroom suite, pool terrace suite, presidential and royal suites.
State-of-the-art technology for communication and entertainment includes high speed internet through wired and wireless access.
The hotel offers a choice of dining options which includes both indoor and outdoor seating options. This includes Mediterranean, Lebanese and Italian. Recreational facilities include a spa and wellness centre and swimming pools.
The hotel is also designed to be the preferred venue for conferences, incentive meetings and social and wedding events.
Speaking about the other properties in Egypt, Rouchdy said the Cairo hotels, Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the First Residence and Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at the Nile Plaza had a good year so far.
“The Cairo hotels are doing well. We have almost 90 per cent occupancy,” Rouchdy said.
“The hotel at Sharm El Sheikh is also picking up and we hope to be okay in October. We have a lot of demand from Europe and North America, particularly from the latter.”
Rouchdy said the Lebanon crisis also diverted many tourists. He said that the property in the Syrian capital was doing well. A new hotel is also likely in Istanbul.
“In Egypt, we are also looking at cruise liners from Luxor to Aswan,” he added.
