St Petersburg, where the CIS travel Market is held, isn’t only about magnificient old buildings

THE CIS Travel Market has established itself as a premier business-to-business exhibition for the travel industry.

It is the inbound and outbound travel event for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Baltic States, Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
The 14th edition of CIS Travel Market, the joint venture between Reed Travel Exhibitions and St Petersburg Express, the figures promise a well-attended and international-based event. Thirty-two countries will be represented at CIS Travel Market this year, with a strong international contingent from Norway, Turkey, Czech Republic and Estonia. Italy makes a welcome return after a seven-year absence from CIS Travel Market.
Over 1,150 sqm exhibiting space will be occupied with 11 new companies joining the exhibition at Lenexpo, St Petersburg.
Twenty national tourist offices will be exhibiting at CIS Travel Market and new for this year are China, Sri Lanka, Lithuania and Georgia. Private sectors from South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Brazil, Vietnam, Germany, Switzerland and the UK will also be present.
For the first time in the exhibition’s 14 year history, the event will have representation from Latin America, in the form of Slaviantours DMC. A further positive sign for the show is that Iran is returning for a second year, with a sizeable increase in space to occupy 100sqm.
As Exhibition Director, Chris Chackal recently stated, “CIS Travel Market has gone from strength to strength over the years, coupled to the state of the art venue and very positive pre-show registration figures, CIS promises to deliver on all counts.”
Running from October 4 to 6, CIS Travel Market will take place at the Lenexpo Exhibition Centre, St Petersburg, Russia. It is a crucial exhibition for the travel and tourism industry for North West Russia and acts as a pivotal link with the Baltic and Scandinavian market.
