An outdoor bathroom at the One&Only Kanuhura

THE One&Only Kanuhura resort, already one of the most romantic settings in the world, offers three different types of wedding packages, with the resort staff doing their utmost to make every couple’s special day completely unique and special.

Each wedding is in a different venue, and couples need only to express their wishes to the resort’s wedding coordinator who will create the wedding of their dreams.
One such is the Romantic Infinity Wedding, in a palm gazebo on the coral island of Jehunuhura. The day starts in the One&Only Spa, where the bride has a full facial, manicure, pedicure and make-up, before joining the groom for the speedboat ride to the island. Greeted by the boduberu, a traditional dance with drums, they pass under an arch of palm leaves to the ceremony, where they exchange vows in front of a Maldivian Master of Ceremonies. After photographs, they take their place in the gazebo for a candlelit wedding feast, before returning to their specially decorated villa. In the morning, they may wake late to a Champagne brunch.
Couples can choose to be married on the northwest side of the island, and dine in full view of an exquisite tropical sunset. Dinner menus can be tailor-made, or chosen from Asian, Maldivian or International options; every six-course meal is complemented by Cuvée Dom Perignon.
The secluded, tranquil island resort of One&Only Kanuhura, Maldives reopened with a fresh look on last October following a four-month refurbishment. The property is located on a slim, oval island, one kilometre long and 200m wide, in the north-eastern part of Lhaviyani Atoll, north of Male. It has 100 villas and five categories, all with sea views and either access to their own white sand beach or a private wooden staircase leading into the clear waters of the lagoon.
What makes a stay at One&Only Kanuhura all the more memorable is the personalised service and friendly smiles. The resort has an international team of more than 360 trained staff, who speak a total of some 20 different languages, to ensure all guests receive the best possible service during their stay.
