Flying steady for ten years

ROYAL Wings, the sister company of Royal Jordanian, completed ten years of operation in February.

Inaugurated in 1996 to establish a regional transport connection between Jordan and its neighbours, it has progressed dramatically to a successful charter carrier.
It recently operated scheduled air services to destinations including Aqaba, Tel Aviv, Al Arish (an Egyptian airport adjusted to Gaza), Sharm El sheikh, Aqaba, Aleppo, Ankara, and Alexandria, all from Amman Marka International Airport and Queen Alia International Airport, in addition to a number of adhoc charter services.
To adjust to the new aviation environment in the region, Royal Wings has been through a restructuring and transformation into a low-cost charter operation with its own modern fleet to further support the charter business and compete effectively.
A gradual migration of the regional operation that was operated by Royal Wings to Royal Jordanian has also taken place. The turboprop airplanes have been relocated to Queen Alia Airport and operate under the name and brand of Royal Jordanian Airline. The operation of Royal Wings as a regional airline has been transferred to Royal Jordanian Airline incorporating all routes. This is intended as a more focused business plan for the group, whereby Royal Jordanian route network, regional and international will operate under one plan and the charter sales and operation under another.
Royal Wings has a dedicated Airbus 320 that operates charter flight through out the region and Europe, in addition Royal Wings has the privilege of being part of the RJ group which allows Royal Wings to access and operate any of RJ fleet. With its new and modern fleet, Royal Wings can fly to anywhere in the Middle East, Gulf, Europe, North America, Far East, Asia or any other part of the world, according to a spokesman. Moreover, Royal Wings also has the ability to cater to a multitude of on-board and on-ground equipments with tailor-made services to meet guests’ charter needs.
The airline’s professional, highly-trained and responsible staff provides its clients with comprehensive service, pilot and passenger amenities, which make business flying more efficient. Passenger lounges, meet and assist, in-flight catering, weather briefing and flight planning and line maintenance is offered with an array of tools, including data and document control, customer feedback, regular internal quality audits and management reviews.
For added security and safety, a 24-hour flight planning/flight following and dispatch service, covering guests’ worldwide missions, is an extension of RW flight operations, and is available through its ADJ center, or by radio on HF 113.130 or VHF 122.95.
